TOWER THEATRE
During the Covid Pandemic, small riots broke out along Broadway in Sacramento. Windows were broken and quickly boarded as in this picture of the boarded restaurant window near Tower Theatre's well known tower landmark. According to some sources, the top of the original tower was once a sort of compass. Cardinal letters of N. E. W. and S. skirted the needle which can still be seen if one looks carefully. While the functionality of this well-known structure has been lost to history, the tower can still be seen from the nearby freeway. Drivers are alerted that they can find a southern off ramp which leads the old thoroughfare and to a restaurant, coffee shop or brew pub.
