ANDERSON MARSH FOR VETERANS

 March 25, 2022

Anderson Marsh in Lake County provides a flat, one or two mile hike. The State of California charges a parking fee, though, and there is limited public transportation access. (see the California Veterans Resourc Book for possible fee waiver possibilities).

The photograph taken above captures part of the walk along a low crest of hills. The elevation gain, however, is only of mild (one or two level) levels. More importantly, the pitch of elevation gain is very gradual. The crest hike itself is probably less than a mile. Vietnam Era Veterans with slight disability can test the trail from perfectly flat levels.

The veterans service office in Lake County can be reached at 707 263 2384. Other hikes are available in Lake County (to be explored in other visits by the Trekker program.
